Day 1: Arrival at Hippo Hollow & Kruger Park sunset Safari
Depart with our shuttle service provider from OR Tambo airport (optional extra)

Departure takes place from the OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg by shuttle to Hippo Hollow in Hazyview. A mere 15 km from Kruger National Park and you will stay here for the 2 nights on safari. Situated on the banks of the Sabie River near Hazyview in South Africa. It is an ideal destination that’s easily accessible near Kruger National Park and has spectacular sights of Mpumalanga Province.
After check in, we will depart in the early afternoon for your first safari in Kruger Park. This safari takes you into Kruger late in the afternoon/ early evening when the animals begin to get active again after the mid-day heat, maximizing your viewing potential. You’ll be able to enjoy the natural environment in an open safari vehicle with a professional field guide. Later, you’ll return to the lodge to enjoy an authentic African-inspired menu specially prepared by our local chef.

Day 2: Full Day Safari Kruger National Park
Your Kruger Park Safari experience begins in the early morning. To explore the Kruger Park by open safari vehicle giving you a full 180 degree panoramic view of the african savanna from a higher vantage point than an ordinary vehicle, in search of all the iconic animal species including the Big 5 with a dedicated professional field guide, who will use expert knowledge of the area to interpret the natural environment for you in every detail.
Your guide will frequent various waterholes and river systems as well as other Kruger hotspots to maximize your opportunity to see as much as possible and ensure the scenery on display is ever changing and picturesque.
Breakfast will be individually packed by our chef to be enjoyed at a restcamp or picnic spot, before we continue on safari for the rest of the day, stopping for lunch in between.
We will return to Hippo Hollow in the afternoon before dinner is expertly prepared and served in the lodge restaurant.

Day 3: Half day AM safari and transfer to Umkumbe Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
On your third day on safari, you will enjoy a morning safari in the Kruger Park, this safari will also take place in the most animal rich area of the Kruger with an expert local guide in an open safari vehicle (game viewer) ensuring the best game viewing experience, giving you maximum exposure to the Kruger National Park over your 4 days on safari.
Breakfast will be prepared and packaged by our chef to be enjoyed during your morning safari in the Kruger.
After you morning safari you will be transferred a short half an hour drive directly from the Kruger Gate to Shaws Gate where you will enter the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
On arrival at the 5 star Umkumbe Safari Lodge, you will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by their talented chefs before heading out on your first open vehicle safari in an exclusive private nature reserve, exposing you to some of the best game viewing in Africa.
You will return to the lodge in the late evening for scrumptious cuisine at the lodge.

Day 4: A day on Safari at the luxurious Umkumbe Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve
An early morning wake-up call will ensure you are ready in time for your morning safari activities. Once you’ve had some coffee, tea and pastries, you will head out on your safari in search of the iconic animals that can be expected on an African safari adventure, Umkumbe rangers are allowed to drive off-road for Big 5 sightings, getting you up close and personal with the Big 5 of Africa with no limitations.
During your morning safari your ranger will find a special spot to stop for coffee, tea and biscuits before continuing on safari before returning to the lodge between 9:00 and 10:00 am for a delicious breakfast / brunch.
At 11:00 am, rangers will depart for an optional bushwalk allowing you to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the African savanna on foot, or you can relax and unwind around the pool, at the bar or enjoy a siesta in your suite.
At 14:00 high tea is served before you depart for another afternoon/ evening safari, before returning to the lodge for dinner.

When your safari ends, you will enjoy breakfast at the lodge before your transfer arrives to collect you for your journey back to Johannesburg.
